Buick's 2004 New York International Auto Show concept was a breath of fresh air from General Motors, which to that point had let the brand that launched the company in 1908 become the car for old people and their parents. Former Porsche designer Sun Yup Lee drew the Buick Velite concept, with inspiration from Harley Earl's 1938 Buick Y-Job, the '53 Skylark, and '63 and '71 Rivieras.
